About Baraut

Baraut is a small city and municipal board in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, India. As of 2011, the city has a population of 713,106 with 384,335 males and 328,771 female populations. Being so near to Delhi, it is quite popular in nearby areas due to several factors.

Geography

Baraut is located at 29.6°N 77.16°E, covering an area of 10.36 square kilometers (4.00 sq mi) and lying between the Ganga and Yamuna river plains. Its average elevation is 231 m (758 feet). Baraut is served by two state highways, SH-57 and SH-82.

Baraut is located 55 kilometers (34 mi) from Delhi (the national capital of India) and 55 kilometers from Meerut, and is within the National Capital Region (NCR). It is within Baghpat district; prior to that, within Meerut district. Baraut is well linked by road to Binauli to the east, to Chhaprauli to the northwest, and Kotana to the west.

Education

Despite the low literacy rate for females and an overall literacy rate, the Baraut city is continuously seeing a big growth in education sector.

Baraut city has seen a tremendous growth in the Computer Education offering several professional courses. The Computer Institute is “Namokar Institute of Computer Education & Technology”.
